Daisy Time!

I saw this cake design in Martha's Weddings and I loved it... The icing and filling recipes I decided to try out were, unfortunately, extremely runny, resulting in many many structure issues. Because it wasn't for anyone I proceeded in decorating it anyway since the flowers were all ready to go! I thought the top looked better alone and that is why I have both pictures.

Scrolls Cake

I was bored, so decided to try my hand at decorating a cake with scrolls made out of royal icing. I definitely learned alot, and can't wait to try again on another cake because it will be amazing, I am sure of it. Here are 3 pictures with different stopping points.

Topsy-Turvy Cake

This cake was for a 40th birthday party...hence why it looks like I took pictures with black and white film -- It really is only black, white, and shades of gray.

This is a chocolate cake with german chocolate, chocolate mousse, and ganache fillings inside - very tasty, in my opinion. The outside is all fondant (except for the stars sticking out - those are cardboard/plastic). Also, the pictures are not the best quality because they were taken with a cell phone camera, after I already put the cake in the transportable cardboard box. I did take more pictures with a real camera, but those are un-uploadable without a non-ancient computer. Sigh.

My Wedding Cake

I made this cake together with my mom, for my wedding in April 2009.

This cake was iced in buttercream, and inside there is both chocolate and white cake. The white cake is filled with a cream cheese whip filling layered with whole blackberries and raspberries - very light and very very good. The chocolate cake has a chocolate whip filling inside one tier, and a chocolate hazelnut filling inside the top tier.

First Fondant Cake

I took a class at Orson Gygi to learn how to do fondant and this is the cake I made!

I reeeeally wanted to put edible pearls on, so I added them to the back.

Birthday Cakes

Happy birthday to Sondra in 2007!
This was back when I didn't know how to make a tiered cake.
But I attempted and here's what happened.

Chocolate cake with a chocolate whip filling, covered in ganache.

Clarissa's Birthday!
Her favorite - white cake with a cream cheese whip filling, layered with strawberries on the inside, and iced with the same filling and strawberries on the outside.

Daniel's Birthday...I promised everyone a cat would be in
attendance so i used chocolate chips to create one.
And it's a german chocolate cake. The outside is iced with a chocolate whip, covered in ganache, and covered again in german chocolate. Pecans make up the bottom border.
